A beautiful 1873 first edition book with 24 superb full-page coloured engravings of wildlife such as fish and butterflies, people in the fields, cats and farm animals etc, printed by Leighton Brothers. The 92-page text (plus plates) is in very good, tight, clean condition.

No inscriptions. Marbled end papers and page edges. Finely bound in classic 19th Century full tree calf leather with gilt decoration to the inner and outer edges of the front and back panels and raised bands, rich gilt decoration and gilt title on a contrasting leather title panel on the spine.


Binding in very good, tight condition, with only a small amount of wear to the extremities.
