NOTES

Rex Brasher was an eccentric American artist who supported much of his work and travel through gambling, engraving, and even fishing. This set contains brilliant illustrations from Brasher's life's work, painting every species and sub-species of bird identified in the American Ornithologists' Union's Check-list of North American Birds. Brasher visited every state in the U.S. and captured several birds that are now extinct, including the heath hen, passenger pigeon, and Eskimo curlew.
