It is made from vitreous enamel fused onto sheet steel.  Heavy gauge - unlike modern versions this one can't be bent easily.  Heavy gauge.  Very durable.  Made in 1980s.  They really don't make them like these today.

4" high 7" wide.  The white enamel is in relief, giving it excellent definition.

This is the real thing from outside a real property in real France.  Not a copy, not made yesterday.  From the north.

Series of numbers such as these represent distances in metres.  They were used in locations where the properties had irregular sizes and distances between entrances.  And no unified numbering system.  Typically seafronts and countryside.

They are very rare.  Made to order at the time, not off the shelf.

Around four thousand house numbers in stock at the last count - large, small, old, high, low, enamel, cast metal, bell metal, convex, flat, Danish, French, Australian, Japanese, German, Belgian, UK.  Please let me know if this is not the number or style you require. But I have few numbers higher than #600.

All numbers accurately described - I do not try and mislead customers by applying euphemisms such as "authentic" or "traditional" or "original" or "vintage" or "style" to pass off cheap repro items as the real thing.
