1951 Baseball Cleveland Indians Celluloid Pencil Clip Pin Button Coin Jim Hegan

These celluloid and steel pencil clips were sold at the ballpark to be used on pencils given away with scorecards, The round button portion of the clip is about 3/4" in diameter, while the clip itself is a little over 1-1/2". Black-and-white player portraits are centered in a colored border with the team name at top and player name at bottom. While many of the same players and photos were used year after year, issue date of the clips can be determined by the border color. In 1951-1952, when blue borders were used, the year is dis[1]tinguished by the presence (1951) or absence (1952) of a white union logo on back.
