Antique Souvenir Cup & Saucer

Pike's Peak, Colorado

This antique cup & saucer set features an illustration of a donkey or mule loaded with supplies, standing next to a railroad track.  The text beneath the illustration reads: I HELPED TO BUILD PIKE'S PEAK RAILROAD, MYSELF.

The saucer measures 5 1/4" and the cup stands just shy of 2 1/2" tall.  According to a mark on the bottom of the saucer, these were made in Germany by Wheelock for W.E. Hook View Book & Stationery Company in Colorado Springs, CO.

Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing.
