Vintage 1994 edition of BREAK THE CHAIN #1 sealed in its original polybag with the audio cassette! This version is extremely scarce: there is a more common version that did not come packaged with the cassette and has a variant cover.

Combining comics with an audio tape, rapper KRS-One hosts a new series of urban tales. The cassette features all the dialogue of the comic, full sound effects, as well as three original songs by KRS-One. The comic is co-written and drawn by Kyle Baker, and captures all the action of the city. Rounding out the creative team of KRS-One and Kyle Baker is ex-Rolling Stone producer Marshall Cress, who helped engineer this series, making it a truly innovative product.

One of the few scarce comics from the 1990s. The only downside is the publisher had the "brilliant" idea to include the audio cassette inside the sealed polybag, virtually guaranteeing you'll never find a mint copy of this book lacking the inevitable dings and creases. That said, this particular copy is in exceptional condition (see photos and judge for yourself). Kyle Baker said in an interview, “BREAK THE CHAIN was very experimental, a comic book packaged with a read-along hip-hop audiocassette. Only 25% of the print run was actually distributed. I don't know what happened to the books and tapes, they were probably destroyed."
