These hand painted set of double size egg coddlers was mode by Lenwile China in Japan.  These were marketed by Ardalt and feature exquisite butterfly and strawberries designs and measure 4.5 inches in height and 2.5 inches in diameter. Made in Japan, this set weighs 1 lb 3.1 oz and is a perfect addition to any collection of Japanese art or culture. With an unknown ownership history, this set adds a sense of mystery and intrigue to its provenance. The set falls under the categories of Vases & Jars, Japanese, 1900-Now, Asian, Cultures & Ethnicities, and Collectibles, making it a versatile and unique item for any collector or enthusiast.  Note that there are 2 different models in this set, presumably from different years.  We found these rare items at a large estate sale along with a boxed set of standard sized Royal Worchester egg coddlers from the same era.  If you examine the pictures closely you will see quite a few differences in these two models.  The obvious difference is the design of the shape of the bottom of the porcelain jar. The other is that the lids are slightly different designs and are not interchangeable.  Note that the location of the threaded portion is at different heights.
