FANTASTIC FILMS #8

THE MAGAZINE OF FANTASY & SCIENCE FICTION IN THE CINEMA

Collecting monster or Sci-Fi magazines was always more exciting when something other than a Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine was available! The thrill of the hunt was coming across a  magazine with an alluring cover that would quickly take care of your measly allowance for the month! Such is the case with this magazine!

Fantastic Films began regular publication in 1978 under the banner of Blake Publishing Corp. The publication continued for 7 years, covering all of the major science fiction and fantasy films of the day. The final issue, number 46, was published in 1985. It was intended as an alternative to competitors such as Cinefantastique and Starlog. The magazine set itself apart by featuring extensive interviews with actors and behind-the-scenes personnel. The magazine never featured editorials or reviews but did have a rather lengthy Reaction section that allowed readers to send in their letters. In addition, the magazine featured a Fantastic Films Archive Series, a retrospective section that highlighted classic sci-fi films of the past.

Articles/features in this issue include: Interview: Richard Donner, Science Fiction On Television, Star Wars Battle Scenes, Quintet, Superman The Movie, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, Conquest Of Space and more!

Condition: no major flaws, complete inside with no missing pages or clipped coupons, and includes the "Full Color Poster Inside"
