Antique Victorian era 1890s -1900s solid Sterling Silver Mesh Bag Purse. 

This purse is beautifully handcrafted and the silver workmanship is excellent. 

The main body of the purse is fine hand laced silver mesh. 

The frame has a hand chased floral and scroll design on one side and has been personalized on the other side for Mrs. G.G. Higbee ?

Purse opens at the top and the latch is very secure and snaps closed. 

This purse is very heavy for a bag of this type and weighs a very substantial 162 grams. 

The main body of the purse is 5 inches wide at the top and 5 1/4" tall. The mesh will expand to 8 1/2" wide at the base of the bag. The original Chain handle is 15" in length and adds an additional 7 1/2" to the bag. The frame is marked for Sterling on the inside. 

The silver mesh is perfect with no loose links or any damage. Truly an exceptional Sterling Silver Purse that has been preserved for over 100 years.
