A rare and vintage Bing & Grondahl B & G Table Lamp.

The lamp base is oval-shaped with a hand-painted countryside landscape of rolling hills, trees, clouds, houses and a road in muted colors of blue, green, white and tan with a classic and high-gloss Danish porcelain finish.

The lamp measures approximately 18 inches high from the base to the top of the brass finial with the porcelain body itself measuring 9 1/2 inches.

The lamp comes with its round white pleated fabric shade which measures approximately 8 1/4 inches high with a top diameter of approximately 8 1/4 inches and a bottom diameter of approximately 11 inches.

The lamp is in perfect working order and is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs to the porcelain base.  There is some minor discoloration to the brass vase  cap, quite common and often seen in vintage lamps with brass fittings.

The shade is also in excellent condition overall, with no rips or tears and only some minor and unobtrusive marks.

The lamp was created from a very large Bing and Grondahl vase and to electrify the lamp the cord was fed through the vase cap at the top eliminating the need to create any hole in the porcelain base.

The lamp base is marked on the bottom with the three towers, B&G Kjøbenhavn Danmark stamped in green, and B&G in blue, which was the mark used from 1915 to 1947.  It also includes the numbers 8776-506 as well as the initials of the artist, A S.

An absolutely beautiful, rare and exceptional Bing & Grondahl Danish Porcelain lamp that would make an outstanding addition to any fine home or collection.

From a smoke-free, pet-free home.
