Five black and white photographs of the Swedish Vessel M/T Sveaborg, which suffered an explosion while alongside the dock at Texas City, TX in 1945. The following photographs are included: being towed out to anchorage with small offloading vessel alongside, offloading vessel alongside receiving the cargo from the Sveaborg, and three photos of the damage. In the second photo you can see the Galveston Ferry passing the vessel. The photos measure 8" x 10" and were taken by Harden F. Wittig. Mr Wittig owned the Deepsea Agents, Inc a company that assisted vessels while in port. One of Mr Wittig's hobbies was taking photographs of vessels in the Galveston - Texas City area. The photographs are in good condition with the following noted: wear from years in storage. If you have any questions, need additional information or scans please contact me, the scans are part of the description.
The ship was later towed to Sweden for repairs and returned to service.
