Peanuts can be easily mixed with other seeds or mealworms to provide a more comprehensive feed for any feathered visitors to your feeding area.
We would always recommend only feeding wild birds peanuts that you know to be fresh, high-quality, and bought from a reputable supplier. This is because over time peanuts can become high in a naturally occurring substance called aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is a poison which commonly affects peanut crops, and it is particularly harmful if ingested by wild birds. Peanuts are a fantastic food source for a range of wild birds, including greenfinches, bullfinches, tree sparrows, house sparrows and starlings.
