Italian Drug Jar

An Italian drug storage jar albarello dating to the 18th century, around 1750. Earthenware body with faience glaze and blue and white decoration. The body has moulded handles and a chimney style neck. Ung(uent) Nervin was apparently a topical lotion used for aches etc and included lavender as an ingredient.


Condition

Significant damage/losses around the foot, but will still stand on a flat surface. Glaze chips and glaze losses throughout. Glaze pops from firing.
