Full morocco leather binding decorated in gilt, with gilt titles to the spine, rubbed and worn, with gilt page edges
Frontispiece engraving and illustrated title page.
Pagination: iv, 359pp.
Provenance: inscription from Mrs J Farbrother to Mr Thomas Lovegrove, 1847.
Approximately 6 ½ inches tall.

- Spine – good condition – gilt titles and decoration to the spine, worn, with slight loss of colour to the top and base to the spine.
- Joints – good condition – gently rubbed and worn.
- Corners – good condition – bumped and worn.
- Boards – good condition – full leather with gilt decoration.
- Page edges – good condition – all gilt, darkened to the top.

- Hinges – good condition – strong and sound.
- Paste downs – good condition – yellow, stained to the edges.
- End papers – good condition – yellow, tanned to subsequent end papers, inscription.
- Title – good condition – tanned to the pictorial titles and frontispiece, tanned with minor foxing to the text title.
- Pages – good condition – tanned with minor foxing.
- Binding – good condition – attractive.
