Life and Letters of James David Forbes, F.R.S. by John C. Shairp et al, 1873

This is "Life and Letters of James David Forbes, F.R.S." by John Campbell Shairp, Peter Guthrie Tait and A. Adams-Reilly. Published by Macmillan and Co., London, 1873. First Edition. Inside the front cover is a presentation certificate indicating that the book was presented to a student in Natural Philosophy (Physics) Studies by Edinburgh University. Hardcover book that is lightly-worn and very clean. Note that there is  small ink stain on outermost side page edges as seen in my photos. It appears that both front and rear cover hinges have been repaired. There is some cracking of the center spine, but the book remains a sound, solid copy. There is some very light internal foxing, primarily to the pages containing illustrations--very slight. remains a Very Good copy. Measures 6 1/8 X 9, 577 pages plus a map at the rear of the book. A SCARCE FEW original copies of this book can be found on other internet booksites for upwards of $195!!!! I will offer this very nice copy for only $75.00 plus $6.00 S&H in the US.
