Dasylirion longissimum

Dasylirion longissimum, commonly known as the Mexican Grass Tree or Sotol, is a visually striking succulent native to northeastern Mexico. This plant forms a dense rosette of long, slender, grass-like leaves that can reach up to 1.5 meters in length. The leaves are green to blue-green, stiff, and finely serrated along the edges, creating a shimmering effect in sunlight. Over time, the trunk can grow up to 1.5 meters tall, topped with the rosette of leaves. In late spring to early summer, it produces tall flower spikes adorned with tiny cream-colored flowers. This architectural plant is highly valued for its unique form and low maintenance.
