Many of these cards are from CEYLON, now SRI LANKA, as well as the USA and other countries. Elephants are the largest existing land animals. Three living species are currently recognized: the African bush / savanna elephant, the African forest elephant, and the Asian elephant. They are the only surviving members of the family Elephantidae and the order Proboscidea.

  • Tusker: This is a male elephant with large tusks.
  • Jumbo: This is a common name for an elephant, especially a large one.
  • Babar: This is the name of a fictional elephant who is the star of a series of children's books by Jean de Brunhoff.
  • Horton: This is the name of a fictional elephant who is the star of a series of children's books by Dr. Seuss.
  • Dumbo: This is the name of a fictional elephant who is the star of a Disney animated film.
  • Ellie: This is a common nickname for an elephant.
  • Big Bertha: This is a nickname for a large elephant.
  • The Gentle Giant: This is a nickname for an elephant. 

Elephants are herbivores, and their diet consists mainly of leaves, fruits, and grasses. Elephants are social animals and live in herds led by a matriarch. Elephants are intelligent animals and have been known to use tools and solve problems. They are also very emotional animals and have been known to grieve for their dead. Elephants are the largest land animals on Earth. The African bush elephant is the largest, with males reaching up to 13 feet tall and weighing up to 6,000 pounds. The Asian elephant is slightly smaller, with males reaching up to 10 feet tall and weighing up to 5,000 pounds.

Elephants are social animals and live in herds of up to 100 individuals. The herd is led by a matriarch, who is the oldest and most experienced elephant in the group. Elephants are a popular tourist attraction and generate income for local communities...
