This Indigenous art painting, handmade by Chief Bart Meekis in Canada, is a stunning addition to any collection. The painting features intricate details and bold colors that are characteristic of Canadian Aboriginal culture. It comes in a protective plastic cover to ensure its longevity.

Born in 1957, Bart Meekis spent his childhood in Sandy Lake, Ontario. He was raised by his grandmother, whose widsom brought him to a great understanding of the wild and bred in him a deep respect for the animal kingdom. In fact, much it his work today is based on legends told to him by his grandmother.

This self-taught Indian artist showed his first artistic capabilities as a young boy doing pencil sketches. He was first inspired by well known Indian artist Carl Ray... 'If it wasn't for his artwork, I don't think I'd be a painter now.' At the age of 12 he was coaxed into painting with oils by his artist brother Johnson Meekis... 'He went out one day and gave me his oil paints-I tried it out.' After realising what he could produce he later experimented with acrylics, which is what he works with today.

Bart's paintings now hang in art galleries across all of Ontario and Manitoba.
