Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 Ohm

General

The 80 Ohm edition of the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones are:

NOT compatible with normal studio use and Hi-Fi amplifiers (for these applications, see the 250 Ohm edition).

NOT compatible with smartphones, laptops and other USB-powered equipment due to their higher impedance, which would result in low volume (for these applications, see the 32 Ohm edition)

The 80 Ohm edition of the Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones are designed for:

headphone amplifiers with an extremely high output power. Recording studio applications.

For extremely loud environments (e.g. live drummers), the special edition 80 Ohm DT 770 M headphones are also available. These headphones offer slightly less comfort and slightly lower sound quality, but far better ambient sound isolation.

This edition of the Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro headphones feature an 80 Ohm impedance and closed design complete with silky-soft over-ear cushions and an ergonomic headband that can be worn for hours on end without irritation. Specifically designed for monitoring during the recording phase, these headphones boast enveloping yet balanced sound backed up by powerfully tight basses, resulting in an audio image that would even please the most critical of listeners.

The Beyerdynamic DT-770 Pro Headphones: Technical Features

The professional audio performance of these headphones has a lot to do with their massive 5Hz to 35,000Hz frequency range, which literally covers everything. Meanwhile, the smart bass-reflex system results in improved bass response, and to ensure efficient isolation, the DT770 Pros feature a closed, over-ear design, prepping them for the mixing phase as well as the recording phase.
