Pretty petite sterling silver pendant necklace set with a black Ethiopian Opal.

The Opal is smoked to give it the beautiful dark colour. Although treated they are still genuine earth mined Opals so each one will vary slightly in colour, clarity and pattern.

Total pendant length is 14mm, stone size is 6 x 8mm.

The chain is an Italian sterling silver 1mm diamond cut Curb.

Opal Care
Ethiopian Opals are "hydrophane" which means if they come in contact with water or moisture they will absorb it. They may lose their fire temporarily and become clear, don't worry though, the fire and colour will come back once the opals have fully dried. 
But long term exposure to moisture can be more harmful, for this reason always remove your jewellery before showering, swimming or sleeping. If needed your jewellery can be dipped briefly but never leave opal jewellery in cleaning solution to soak. In most cases though a silver/gold polishing cloth will do the job very well.
