ANTIQUE GERMAN SHEPHERD PRINT

This is a beautiful vintage print which was carefully removed from a 1953 book
featuring art by Edwin Megargee.

The print measures approximately 8 by 11 inches.

It is in very good condition - note the left side edge has a clean strip of binding tape, about 1/4 inch wide.  I will leave this to allow more room for matting.  There is text on the reverse side.

Edwin Megargee is best known for his portraits of purebred dogs. His animal portraits truly
showcase each animal’s personality. In the tradition of the pure-bred dog portrait, his dogs
are typically posed to show off how they conform to the breed standard.

Megargee also painted horses, cattle and cock-fighting scenes. The running greyhound logo for
the Greyhond Bus Co. was designed by him. Several of his game-shooting scenes appeared
in "Field & Stream" throughout the 1940s-50s.

It will be packaged in a plastic sleeve, with a thin piece of cardboard,
and sandwiched between layers of cardboard.
