Antique Crocheted Miser's Pouch Coin Purse - JAFFA Israel

This sweet little piece of Israeliana may have been made by some young Anglo-Saxon girl or maybe a nun living in the holy land (otherwise, "JAFFA" would have been written in Hebrew). It is skillfully crocheted and still has its drawstring (one end tassel gone) and bottom tassel intact. It has faded in color over the years, but still retains lovely shades of blue-green that most likely symbolize sailboats in the Mediterranean Sea.

The purse measures (without bottom tassel) almost 4 1/2" long and almost 3" wide.

It is actually still very sturdy and could even be used today.
