Extremely good quality decoration on this black lacquer bowl. Finely painted dragon and four varying geometric designs in each quadrant of the bowl. It also features a gentle quatrefoil style rim. Deep black lacquer with gold painted decoration really pops. There some minor scuffs on the outside of the bowl and very minor scuffs inside. Overall the condition is very good. I believe this is a Japanese piece but there’s always a chance it’s Chinese. The quality looks Meiji Period but there’s a chance it could have been made all the way up until about pre-WWII era. I know it seems like a bit of hyperbole written to hard sell this simple bowl but it really is beautifully executed. I don’t currently have a great place to display bowls but I’ll be happy to keep this one if it doesn’t sell. The bowl is 6” across. Ships ASAP! Thanks
