Yellow Sunflower - Earthenware Tile Design by William de Morgan (1839-1917).
Hand painted tiles became a regular feature of Arts and Crafts interiors from the 1860s onwards.
Animals, fish and florals were popular motifs.  A lifelong friend of William Morris, William de Morgan
designed tile, stained glass and furniture for Morris & Co. from 1863 to 1872.
