Campo Del Cielo Meteorite forms as a course octahedrite and is Iron-Nickel bearing, consisting of approximately 92% iron and 6% of nickel while also containing trace amounts of cobalt, carbon and phosphorous within its composition.

The Meteorite was first said to be discovered by the aboriginal people in the Chaco Province & Santiago Del Estero Province of Argentina before it then gained interest by the Spanish military to use in manufacturing weapons.

Approximately just over 20 meteoric impact craters have since been stumbled upon by explorers. While researchers have carbon dated the charred wood remains found within these craters to be around 4000 - 5000 years old.

Scientists have claimed that the Meteorite originated from the asteroid belt in-between Mars and Jupiter. Some theorize Campo Del Cielo to originally be 4.5 billion years old, dating back to the beginning of the solar system.
