FUJIMOTO Yoshimichi Works


INTRODUCTION:

This book introduces the works of master overglaze porcelain artist FUJIMOTO Yoshimichi. "Works I" includes 111 pieces selected from his recent works, and "Works II" and "Phantom Tableware" include 223 pieces from his early works to 1984.


Yoshimichi Fujimoto (1919-1992) was a ceramic artist of the Showa and Heisei periods. He introduced his own technique to overglaze enamel and was active in exhibitions both in Japan and abroad. In 1961, he was awarded the title of Living National Treasure for his overglaze porcelain.

He produced many boxes, flat vases, and large dishes in which the painting was effectively expressed. He preferred to paint flowers and birds as his subjects, and expressed them with realistic depiction adopting the Mogu technique of Japanese-style painting on a white porcelain base.


Comments from us

We first became acquainted with his work through the "phantom tableware". These are the tableware he created for a full-course French dinner for the Emperor Showa. The tableware is featured in the book, and we consider it one of the highlights of the book.

The dinnerware set includes about 200 pieces for 15 people, from soup and serving plates and coffee cups to platters for hors d'oeuvres and other dishes. Emperor Showa admired all of the tableware after he finished eating.

They are called "phantom tableware" because they have rarely been shown to the public since the dinner for the emperor.

We send a product by Japan Post Registered Airmail or FedEX International Economy. We attach the tracking number. It will take 7-10 business days normally to arrive (Sometimes delay of delivery because it takes more time at customs.)  If you purchase the items (2 or more), we can ship them (items) together. After the usual payment procedure, we will refund the difference in shipping fee.



RETURN:

If you are not satisfied with the item received, you can return it (only 30days). In this case, we can only refund you back the purchase price and original shipping. Return shipping fee will be paid by buyer. All returned items must be in its original condition. If you cannot agree with our policy, you'd better not bid. If you find something wrong with the item, please contact us at first. We will do our best to solve the problem with you.


NOTE (IMPORTANT):
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up - do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.
