The class Seki-1 "Type D" brass model is reinforcement materials on the side installed up to the front of the increased payload section, and the gable plates are the wooden plates version before being changed to steel.

J scale refers to the 1:80, 16.5mm gauge model railroad standard, often treated in Japan as the same as HO scale, but recently named J scale.

The Class Seki-1 was built between 1911 to 1913 with 531 cars.

It was called Class Otese-9500 when built (Otese-9500 - Otese-10030). 

The load capacity was 24 t, Between 1918 and 1922, all Class Otese-9500 cars were converted to Class Otese-11000 (Otese-11000 - Otese-11530).

The conversion was a 25% increase in tonnage from 24 tons to 30 tons. The 6 t increase was equivalent to adding 133 new Class Otese-9500 cars, and since the number of cars was the same, maintenance and repair costs were expected to be reduced.

In 1928, the Class Otese-11000 was renamed the Class Seki-1 (Seki-1 - Seki-526) for the 526 cars that were in service at the time of the 1928 revision of the rolling stock class rules and regulations.

In 1964, the Class Seki-1 car class disappeared from JNR.
