This UNREAD ULTRA-RARE edition from The Franklin Mint is in NEAR MINT condition with no markings inside or out and no attached bookplates. I won't say much about this edition because anyone considering a purchase knows what they are looking at. This is part of the Franklin Library's "Award-Winning American Classics" series. This book is totally unread and almost definitely just sat stored for years. The entire text block gilt is still stuck together because the pages have never even been separated for the first time after being treated with gold leaf during production. Being a basically untouched book, I didn't want to manipulate it too much, and so I had to resist taking lots of pictures of the exclusive specially-commissioned illustrations. I resisted the urge and left the pages still stuck together at the gilt edges. While it is an unused book, it isn't totally flawless(but it's close). There is one white spot on the top edge of the text block, as shown. This seems to be a small spot of paint. There is no texture or residue or stickiness to it; it's simply a superficial white spot. And there is one tiny and shallow nick smaller than a grain of uncooked rice on the top spine hub, which is a barely visible imperfection. Unfortunate as it is to have any imperfections on a book this collectible, this is still very minor, all things considered.
