Evald Nielsen (life: 1879 - 1958) was an outstanding Danish jeweler and a member of the Copenhagen Jewelers Guild from 1920 to 1948. He was the First Chairman of the Union of Danish Jewelers (Dansk Guldsmedemesterforening) and an Honorary Master Jeweler of Denmark. Working exclusively in the Art Nouveau style, the artist independently developed designs for his magnificent products and produced them in small batches, which is why they have always been in demand by contemporaries and highly valued by collectors today.

In 1893, Nielsen began working for the Fleron jewelry company, initially as a press operator, then as an engraver. In 1905, he opened his own workshop, and by 1914, 14 people were employed there. By 1926, the master had become so wealthy and in demand that he purchased a building on the main street of Copenhagen and joined the elite. His son, Aage Weimar, who was already a well-known designer by that time, assisted him in his work, and later continued his father's legacy under his own name.

Nielsen gained fame in the 1920s when, competing with Georg Jensen, he refused the services of eminent designers and developed his own unique style together with his son. This style was based on the highly popular Art Nouveau aesthetic of the time, characterized by original, voluminous designs that appeared as if filled with air. By this time, the products of Nielsen's workshop had become incredibly popular in Germany and then in the United States. Along with the growing confidence in the master, production volumes also increased. Today, his products are highly sought after by Art Nouveau collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
