This is Candide from Voltaire, translated into English from the original French by Richard Aldington and illustrated by Sylvain Sauvage in a lovely rendition of the Easton Press. The Easton Press is the pinnacle of collector's editions for classics. They are bound in genuine leather with 22kt gold designs on the covers. The pages are a high quality, acid free paper that prevents foxing and toning over the years so that your book remains timeless. The endpages are made from a moire silk and there is a silk ribbon page marker that matches the color of the leather cover. The gilded page edges are a lovely gold on all sides.

This book is in near fine condition. The end pages are slightly lighter around the edges which is the only sign of wear.
