This neat, B&W post card from Valparaiso, Chile, was sent by a sailor serving aboard the U.S.S. West Virginia, to a Frank Boatright, per General Delivery, Gallup, New Mexico Territory! It was postmarked on August 2, 1909! The U.S.S. West Virginia was a Pennsylvania-class, armored cruiser. She was attached to the Pacific Fleet at the time of writing.

To continue, outside of one folded perf in its bottom, the green, 1-Cent, U.S. "Franklin," definitive is in excellent condition! The ship cancel from the Tennessee Post Office is superb!

Lastly, as for the condition of the post card, it's very good! Aside from some minor stains on either side, it's pretty clean! There is very little wear and tear around evident on it. Minor blemishes aside, this item is a really neat piece of U.S. Naval postal history connected to a sailor serving on the U.S.S. West Virginia, and a friend or kin living in New Mexico Territory in 1909!
