Half green calf leather binding, with gilt decorated spines, gilt titles, marbled paper covered boards, paste downs and end papers, page edges tanned or darkened to the top. Foxed and tanned throughout.

Vol I – xliv, 305pp, with 6 engraved illustrations.

Vol II – 341pp, with 6 engraved illustrations.

Vol III – 381pp, with 6 engraved illustrations.

Vol IV – 404pp, with 7 engraved illustrations.

Provenance: no signatures or bookplates.

Approximately 10 inches tall.

• Spine – very good condition – gilt titles and decoration, four broad raised gilt bands, blind and gilt decorated compartments, gently rubbed.
• Joints – good condition – rubbed.
• Corners – good condition – bumped and worn.
• Boards – good condition – marbled paper covered boards, gently marked, worn and scratched, with leather spine and quarters.
• Page edges – good condition – tanned, darkened to the top.

• Hinges – good condition – sound.
• Paste downs – good condition – marbled.
• End papers –  good condition – marbled.
• Title – good condition – tanned and foxed.
• Pages –  good condition – tanned with foxing and minor marks throughout.
