Main Filter Caps for the Marantz 2285 Stereo receiver

Nippon Chemi-Con is a well established capacitor supplier from Japan established in 1931. These Capacitors are part of their highly regarded SMH line.Nippon SMH offer superior caps in terms of ESR, ripple and life span compared to most other brands.

Sometimes confusing, United Chemi-Con Inc., is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Chemi-Con Corporation

The original caps are 63 Volt, these replacements are 63 volt. The Capacitance of the originals is 13,000uf, these replacements are the 15,000uf. The bit of added capacitance makes for better bass and dynamics. Adding too much additional capacitance will strain other power supply components and the power switch potentially causing premature failure. Unless you are well versed in electronics and can do the math, I recommend to not increase capacitance by more than 20%.

These Capacitors are snap in and you will need to use terminal rings to solder in your wires.

The 2nd pic shows these same caps mounted in a Pioneer SX-850.
You can easily cut the bottom off of your original caps and mount these inside to keep the original aesthetics. I do this regularly with fantastic results.

Capacitor size has decreased over the years with improved esr and ripple ratings. These are a substantial upgrade over the originals, even when they were new. With that size difference in mind, also included are simple to use yet incredibly effective adaptors to allow for mounting these smaller diameter caps using the existing clamps.

Other sellers offer exact fit capacitors if that is your preference. They are substantially more expensive and sometimes have inferior esr and ripple ratings.

We use these regularly for our in house restorations. We also use them in our Restoration kits for vintage audio listed here on Ebay and on our website.
