The Tower Bridge is an architectural icon designed and constructed to span the Thames River in London, England. Often mistakenly called the "London Bridge", the Tower Bridge was built to handle traffic from London's East End. It took over 50 designs and 8 years to complete in 1892 and was considered the most impressive and advanced of bascule bridges for it's time.
