Springs in pre-hardened carbon steel with high yield strength, protected by painting in various colors with high thermal resistance. The different color highlights the load of each series of springs.

Each spring, depending on its geometric and technological characteristics, has a well-determined value of the load/elongation ratio (k), so for the same elongation, a spring that requires a greater force will have a greater load/elongation ratio (k). Inside a clutch assembly, the springs have the precise purpose of establishing the attachment point of the clutch masses on the clutch assembly drum, counteracting the expansion movement of the clutch masses determined by the centrifugal force. Consequently, the greater the load/elongation ratio (k) of the clutch spring, the greater the engine speed at which the clutch unit will transmit power to the wheel (attachment point).
