This vintage (or antique) vest is a stunning piece. The rust-colored velvet base garment is mostly covered in metallic gold embroidery appliquéd to form eye catching patterns.
The piece is very well made, and fully lined. There are four lined and embroidered front pockets - two on each side. It’s in excellent condition. I scoured the piece for issues and only found a handful of tiny wear spots or discolorations in the velvet (see photos).
The metallic thread is heavy - the piece weighs just over a pound!
No size marked, but I would say this is on the small side. Measures 17” armpit to armpit, and 18” top seam to bottom hem.
