A superb English Edwardian antique solid sterling silver cigar case. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1901 with the makers marks being that of Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd. It has been superbly designed being planished with the cartouche being engraved with initials which look to be MBS. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs, the inside is clean and gilded. It needs an elastic holding strap inside but these can be bought or made easily. It measures approx. 5 inches (13cm) long by over 3.25 inches (8.5cm) wide by 0.75 inch (1.9cm) deep externally and weighs 148 grams. A beautifully designed piece.
