This over 160-year old certificate is an uber rare part of the Pennsylvania anthracite coal mining history. Included are a variety of US Revenue stamps, along with attached transfer paperwork. It's a perfect item for any US mining history buff, collector of rare artifacts from the US coal mining industry, or really anyone interested in a unique and collectible historical item.

History:  The original opening was a drift driven west on the North Dip Mammoth Vein by Buckley, Moody & Company in 1857.  In 1862, the company had driven 1,300 feet of gangway, when it was succeeded by John Jones & Company, which operated until 1864. On March 16, 1864, the Preston Coal Company was chartered.
