Philodendron Barrosoanum 5, well rooted home acclimated plant, free shipping, uncommon

You will receive the exact plant shown.

This philodendron is rooted with healthy active growth. It is growing in perlite, therefore it will transfer smoothly to an appropriate soil mix or into semi hydroponics.  It is ready to succeed, already home acclimated, ready to make you a proud grower.

The barro5 is unique due to the tri-lobe shape of the leaves. As the plant matured that feature becomes more exaggerated. See the last photo for an image or images of the mother plant. Different forms exist of this and the Barrosoanum.

The plant is available only within the USA and the territories. Shipping occurs usually on Mondays and Tuesdays Tuesdays but can be done anytime as needed to stay current on shipping. I will do my best to be sure packages do not sit in hot postal annexes on Sundays.

Like all of my plants, this has grown from cuttings taken from my mother plant/plants that are part of my private collection. I do not sell any plants of any genus that are grown from tissue culture. I do not "flip" plants. All are propagated literally in-house. Most mother/stock plants I grow started as a single plant, vine, corm, or cutting and I have grown it out several times and become extremely familiar with the plant by the time I have grown it enough to have stock/mother plants and plants available for sale.

I am happy to assist you with questions you may have. I genuinely want you to succeed with your plant collection.

All of my plants are already home acclimated. They reside inside my home in south Georgia, USA, for their entire lives with me. They are never in greenhouses, grow tents, outdoors, on a porch, these mother plants reside in my dining room. They get low light from extremely affordable led lights Absolutely nothing fancy or expensive is needed to succeed with these plants. Acclimation to your home will be easy compared to plants accustomed to greenhouse or outdoor conditions. My humidifiers turn on at 40% inside my home. My intention behind that is to toughen up plants up for their future homes. I worry when people tell me they are maintaining extremely high humidity in their homes for their plants because of the risks associated with mold. I want my plants to live among the people who love them. I love providing healthy, soon to be showpiece plants for many decades and generations, if that is what the owner wants. I adore living among my collection rather than having them hidden away out of sight.

Unless noted, plants are grown in perlite and shipped in moss. However, at my discretion shipping may be in the container if I think it will benefit the plant.

Please do the necessary research to properly care for this and any plants you purchase. That said, please do not believe everything you read online or see on TV. The plants I sell are all easy care. Most grow almost entirely in synthetic light. I water all with tap water. My water is hard water, and it comes treated by the county in which I live. If it smells particularly strong of chlorine, I leave the water out overnight so many additives evaporate. I do not tamper with ph levels. In my opinion, chasing a number by using chemical additives will usually result in unnecessary expense, unnecessary stress, and a struggling plant that would have been happy with regular tap water. That said, if you have a water softening system do find water from a different source lacking the salt additives.

I feed my plants every time I water them. All but fresh cuttings and monstera albos and Thai Constellations get full strength feed. Fresh cuttings and baby roots get plain tap water. Albos and Thai Constellations get 15 to 25% strength feed to eliminate browning leaves.

Please remember that this is a tiny plant shop fully operated by yours truly. I am not always able to immediately reply to all requests/messages/etc. I have previously stated that shipping may occur on Saturday, Monday, or Tuesday. I will gladly discuss any specific requests you have regarding shipping.

I am happy to consider requests for special orders and combinations. But please understand some requests, such as seeing photos of my entire collection, are extremely difficult if not impossible and very time consuming. Prices will include time for accommodating off the wall requests. I am happy to do all that I can. Repeat buyers are more likely to get preferential treatment for obvious reasons.

Beautiful gift wrapping for all ages, interests, and occasions is available upon request.

Starter kits are available on request for every plant. It would be tailored for your needs, skills, and your environment. I can include everything from a hand painted pot (think monogram type calligraphy and simple art), hand made macrame hanger, appropriate soil mix, hand written easy to understand directions, and anything and everything to get you or a gift recipient started with a new plant. Just ask.

I also offer plant styling services for homes and businesses. I can work with you to do this all online, eliminating countless stresses in the process. I will teach you how to care for each plant and tailor a care plan for your needs. References available on request.

I am happy to assist you with keeping plants around beloved pets. I have the pleasure of 4 house cats, three raised among my collection and one introduced as an adult, and a small house bunny that all live in harmony with my plants. They live harmoniously now, that was not always the case! Lol. I learned some tricks along the way, for sure. In short, I can assist you with every aspect of growing your home collection to offer a completely safe, comfortable, and beautiful aspect of your life, inspiring curiosity and creativity in all who experience it.

Please be aware that I frequently use recycled or repurposed shipping materials. In particular I like to re-use all sorts of plastic containers used around my home. It may look odd but the plants are very safe.

Thanks!
