Antique German PAPIER MACHE Egg

Farm Scene Girls & Chickens

This is an antique Easter Egg meant to hold candy for children. It was made in Germany (marked inside)—most likely prior to 1918. This was originally a more expensive one, as it is larger (5”) and has “lace” around the edges (mostly).

The red egg and lace are rougher than the “scene” which shows 2 farm girls with their rooster, chickens and baby chicks. There is a 2” area at 1 bottom 

edge of egg that is missing the zig-zag lace trim, and a couple spots at egg 

top. Also, the string has been tied onto another. Otherwise, it is in very good condition, considering it’s very old age.
