Vintage circa 1980's Chinese wooden box and lid, is we believe worked in huanghuali wood, (type of rosewood).  It is of rectangular form with rounded bowed sides and a lift off domed lid.  This gorgeous little piece is very finely inlaid to the lid with a dragon chasing a flaming pearl amongst clouds in gold and silver wires.  Only the dragon's beard, claws, nails and the pearl itself (not the flames), are gold wire inlay, all the rest is in silver wire.  The interior is in black lacquer and there are no makers marks.  The piece has a high quality finish but there is a tiny 1cm hairline flaw in the bottom right hand corner of the lid, otherwise it is in good condition.  There are some fine marks to the interior and slight wear to the base conducive with its age (please see photos).
