It plays both regular DVDs and Blu-ray discs fine. One of the hinged by the disc tray is broken and it hangs out a little bit (as I tried to show in the photos), but it does not affect the functionality of the device. 

The remote is paired to the device. Power runs through all the buttons fine. Batteries not included.

The HDMI and AV cord (red/yellow/white) work fine.
