THIS AUCTION FEATURES A VERY PRETTY STUDIO POTTERY CASSEROLE THAT WAS MADE IN MAINE BY THE ROWENTREES CO. I TURNED IT 4 TIMES TO SHOW YOU ALL THE SIDES. THE EXCELLENT EXTERIOR GLAZE FEATURES BLUE BANDS ON A LIGHT GRAY BACKGROUND. THE INTERIOR IS A BEIGE TONE. THE FORM SHOWS THAT THE PIECE WAS MADE WITH A COILED TECHNIQUE. THE COLOR OF THE UNGLAZED POTTERY IS A REDDISH TONE. THE MAKER’S SIGNATURE Rowentrees IS INCISED ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LID AND ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BOWL. RESEARCH TELLS ME THAT ROWENTREES WAS FOUNDED IN 1950 AND CLOSED IN 2009. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THIS CASSEROLE WAS MADE. SO, I AM GUESSTIMATING 1980s FOR THE eBAY TIME FIELD. IF YOU ALREADY COLLECT ROWENTREES POTTERY THIS COOKWARE WILL BE A WELCOME ADDITION. IT WILL SURELY BE A VERY APPRECIATED GIFT FOR A COLLECTOR IN YOUR CIRCLE OF FAMILY & FRIENDS. THE MEASUREMENTS:
Approximately 8 1/2" across the lid, 8 1/4" across the top of the bowl, 2 7/8" high to the rim, 2 3/4 deep", 4 1/4" high to the top of the lid knob and 7 1/2" across the base ring. The weight is just about 3 pounds 12.5 oz. The completed box will ship USPS insured Priority or Ground Advantage at the 5 pound rate.

THE CONDITION:
The overall condition of this pre-loved casserole is wonderful, as good as can be expected considering that it has been used. ●●●Please allow the photos to guide you as they are the lion’s share of this description.●●● This is what I see: there is no damage; there is a shallow indentation halfway up on the exterior; there is a small amount of crazing and a scant whisper of stir marks on the inside; there is some friction on the unglazed areas on the bottom and a small irregularity on the ring on the underside of the lid. Otherwise I do not see anything of serious consequence to describe. ●●●I hope I have not missed anything. If I did, it was surely minor and 100% unintentional.●●● Just about 99% of the items I offer are vintage/pre-owned and may show some use. ●●●Important●●● I often heighten the contrast in my pictures to bring out all the details.
