Antique Chinese Shiwan mudman pottery figurine is of an old sage with a large wine jar standing holding a wine cup and supporting himself against the jar.  The lovely antique late 19th century piece is delightfully modelled with nice facial features and detailing to the jar.  It has bisque fired sections as well as lovely glazes in blue, green, yellow, brown and white.  There are no makers marks or country marks.

It has a long chip to the front edge of the sleeve, he appears to have lost his thumb on his left hand which would have hung inside the jar, and there is some old repair of glue to hide the loss of the thumb.  It has tiny flea bite nicks to the tips of his beard and hair tassles (please see photos).
