Vtg 1978 Kenneth L Grooms A Thousand Words Is Worth A Picture 17" Wall Plaque
Here is vintage decorative wall art plaque featuring the quotes / sayings in the vibrant colorful style of artist Kenneth L. Groom. The plaque has a colorful lithograph laminate on top of wood particle-board that is painted black along the edges. Unmarked on the back, no label. The plaque is titled along the lower front corner "A Thousand Words Is Worth A Picture (c) 1978 Kenneth L. Grooms" and also has "Art 101, Atlanta, Georgia".
I have placed a ruler in some pictures for size reference. This square plaque is approx. 17" x 17" and slightly over 1/2" deep. It weighs a heavy 4 1/4 lbs. It has a sturdy rope hanger stapled to the upper back.
This piece begins with the sentences / quotes "Today Is The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life. Birds Of A Feather Flock Together." It ends with "You Cannot Be Anything If You Want To Be Everything. What Is said When Drunk Has Been Thought Of Beforehand. Have A Nice Day."
This vintage plaque is overall in very good clean condition, showing minor surface wear. There is a little surface chip to the laminate at the upper left corner edge (10th picture); and a few little scuffs or nicks here and there along the edges. There is a light scratch on the letter D in the word "Wisdom" near the center of the design (9th picture). A few minor black specks at the upper right corner (12th picture). No cracks. No musty or smoke odor.
This comes inside a plastic bag that could be original or was used for storage and has kept it protected.
This heavy plaque requires a large, oversize box. Shipping weight 5-6 lb. I will refund a significant shipping difference.
Please note: Bright white spots in my pictures are camera glare, flash.
