1800 antique ORIG.TOLE PAINT TIN CANNISTER folk art PA DUTCH lancaster pa prim

We are so fortunate to live in the Amish, Lancaster PA area, and are able to bring you original, authentic period antiques, and this is one of those special pieces.

This is a beautiful piece which measures 9" tall with hinged lid closed x 8.25" across.    Has a handle on top too!   Hinge works.   There may have been a latch at one time opposite the hinge, but there is none.

The paint is worn, but plenty of the original early outside paint remains for excellent display.    The white inside paint is chipped and will rub off easily.   It is thick paint.

Undated, circa late 1700s-early 1800s.

Purchased at a lancaster county pa antique auction.
