Item Description:

 

 

An antique late 19^th century unframed watercolour caricature portrait painting by “Major C J Cockburn using the artist name “Bengali””, it depicts a charming full length portrait study and is entitled to the back “Colonel D K Evans, Colonel Jim”, it is signed to the bottom right hand corner, it measures approx. 35cm x 25cm.

 

It comes from a collection of 33 works all depicting soldiers and officers from the 6^th Royal Regiment (later the Royal Warwickshire Regiment) please see my other current listings for the other works. The leather album front cover is not included in the lot, it just shows the album this work came from.

 

Acceptable condition for its age, it would look great mounted and framed up, please see photos.
