A wonderful copy of the 1967 Springbok "A THOUSAND YEARS OF ROCKETRY," art by Harry H-K Lange, 450+ piece fully-interlocking jigsaw puzzle, PZL 2002.

Made in the USA by Springbok Editions Inc., New York.

Springbok's puzzles are famous for their unique die-cuts, sturdy pieces and clear, richly colored graphics. Within a puzzle, no two pieces are the same!

Ten vignettes depict the development of Rocketry concepts from the 1st Century A.D. through the 1960s. Like two other space-themed Springbok puzzles, this one also subtly advertises the 1968 Stanley Kubrick film "2001: A Space Odyssey." A very enjoyable puzzle--not difficult, and quite colorful and interesting!

Puzzle comes in its original square box that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" x 1-1/2". Completed puzzle is 20-1/4" square. This is Springbok's square die-cut DS501, complete at 501 pieces.

CONDITION: This is an authentic, pre-owned vintage item that is over 57 years old.

It is 100% COMPLETE (no missing pieces) and is in NEAR-MINT (pieces) to EXCELLENT (box) vintage condition.

The pieces are beautiful--richly colored, satiny/glossy, sturdy--showing only the very slightest wear. I saw no bent, broken, torn, chewed, or replacement pieces.

The back of the puzzle is RED, with age-appropriate toning and a few tiny bits of lost backing. Pieces fit perfectly together--not too loose, not too tight--just right:) The finished puzzle lays flat and smooth.

Box is in overall EXCELLENT vintage condition. There is NO tape. There are NO split corners. The box-top art is beautiful! Corners and edges have age-typical dings, bumps, and chipping. Box sides are very good! The box bottom is that very attractive glossy black with silvery printing. Very little shelf wear but some light scraping out at the edges. Inside of box is clean. There is NO writing or other markings on either the inside or outside of the box.

No weird odors; just the typical "old puzzle" smell from decades in storage:)

From a smoke-free, feline-friendly home.

* PLEASE VIEW ALL PHOTOS and use the "zoom" feature to assess the condition for yourself, as the photos are an important part of this Description.

* HOW I PREPARE PUZZLES FOR LISTING: I personally assemble the puzzle. I gently wipe the box and pieces to remove any dust. I generally do not attempt to remove tape or stickers, as this can cause considerable damage if done incorrectly. I do not undo or reverse previous repairs. I check for possible replaced pieces, but these can be difficult to detect. When considering the purchase of a vintage puzzle, keep in mind that it may have had multiple owners over the decades, and passed through many hands:)
