A nice example of this scarce 17th century token struck from a die pairing absent from the Noweb collection. Lightly worn and well detailed. Ex Quentin Archer Collection, Noonans 19/9/2023 lot 1141, Simmons Mailbid Sale 67, 14/5/2014, and DNW, 2/10/2013, lot 347, . Presented with old ticket.

R: IN SOVTHAM 1669 around beaded inner circle. HIS HALF PENY within.


This token is listed in Dickinson as Warwickshire 136 and is unlisted in Norweb. I would grade this token Good Fine (Sheldon VF35). I have provided high-resolution close up photos so you can decide on a grade for yourself.
