This machine was purchased from a local motorcycle shop 2 1/2 years ago as a retirement project ...I was thinking about building myself a 400/4 to wiz around the lanes on however the reality is that I am a little heavier than when I last rode a 400/4 and so the larger model was chosen.....it said BUY ME !!!!!
While in my ownership it has been subject to a complete refurbishment including a thorough engine /gearbox rebuild with all new parts sourced from David Silver.
The clutch has been converted to Hydraulic operation which makes it nice and light in operation using a Ducati 900 ss slave cylinder.
Ignition is by a Boyer digital system
The electrics have been renewed with a new loom , modern reg/rectifier, new fuse board, new starter solenoid and the starter motor checked over .

The chassis has been powder coated and fitted with new steering and swing arm bearings, new fork stanchions,TEK adjustable  shocks, wheels are Kawasaki GPZ 750 cast items powder coated in bronze to replace the very heavy Comstar  originals which were full of cracks and corrosion.
All the spindles and fasteners are stainless steel. lots of polished alloy, very little chrome and no corrosion anywhere.
The wheels are fitted with new tyres front and rear 110/80 x18 and 140/70 x18 with just a few hundred miles on .
Floating rear brake mounting , Brembo master cylinders and calipers front and rear for the full unlit skip effect !!!!!
 Tarozzi foot controls.
Steering damper and fork brace added to aid stability.
The saddle has been refurbished by Core seating near Lincoln

New 530 gold link chain , new chain wheels. , the list is extensive and helps to make for a very practical classic 750/4.

The machine comes with an extensive receipts file for parts and materials . A box of original parts including the original clutch actuator mechanism is also included,

The bike starts on the button, ticks over quietly and can be used as it is with confidence or developed further.

No MOT or Tax required as it has  classic vehicle status

The asking price is vastly below the cost of the project,I am open to sensible offers including PX/swap , adjust either way for 1991 onward Ducati belt drive 600/750/900 SS or similar , having decided that it would be a good idea to have a track day/ fast road bike project in my very late 60's.
